Hi I hope someone can advise me on this problem. My mother bought a property in Turkey and has had enormous difficulty obtaining the tapu.
Basically the company she bought it from I believe has gone bankrupt and they owe the Turkish government money - possibly taxes. The solicitor we have been dealing with says he needs someone from the company to authorise transfer of deeds to my mother but no one can contact them. Is it inevitable the Turkish government will take possesion of the property? It seems unfair that my mother has paid for the property but can't get the deeds.
